Flags Against Sky

The General Grand Masonic Congress (GGMC) serves as a distinguished center for global masonic alliance, building bridges across every shore. Our dedication to the craft's traditional and historical essence links us to a vast web of sovereign entities, all working toward the goals of brotherly affection, relief, and truth.

The 1896 REISSUED WARRANT

Presented here is a refined view of the genuine and solemn text within the latest Treaty and Warrant. This instrument reaffirms the deep fraternal ties initially established between the National Grand Lodge of Romania 1880, the General Grand Masonic Congress (G.G.M.C.), and the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. (A.F. & A.M.). This historic legal charter survived the rise of Communism in Romania and the shattering impact of World War I. It further withstood the aggression of the Nazi regime in the Second World War, along with countless geopolitical shifts and civil rights movements on both sides of the Atlantic. Despite over a century of physical distance, the enduring bonds of our brotherhood act as a cable-toe that defies time and space, ultimately returning to its origins for a magnificent reunion... (Luke 15: 20-21) & (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

This 2017 photograph captures The National Grand Lodge of Romania 1880 during a formal session with affiliated International Grand Lodges in Romania. Observed within the opening ceremony is the Honorable Ill. Ollie Spencer Sr. 33, Past Grand Master of the M.W. Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. (A.F. & A.M.), the jurisdiction that originally acquired the Warrant to establish Masonic labor across the United States and Canada. Ill. Ollie Spencer Sr. 33/98 also served as the Past President General (Emeritus) of the GGMC; he and other prominent figures from our Masonic Jurisdiction appear frequently in conferences with our international peers throughout these various images. This visual testimony confirms that our fraternal link remains as vibrant today as it was in 1896 under Ill H. C. Scott 33, who, like Ollie Spencer Sr., represented the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. (A.F. & A.M.) and its associated American and Canadian Grand Lodges. As our Mother Grand Lodge and Holy See, this institution provides the authoritative foundation for our shared lineage and the enduring bond that unites our global brotherhood across generations.

The General Grand Masonic Congress (GGMC)   Our institution stands as a premier beacon for global Masonic diplomacy and fraternal togetherness. For more than a century, we have fostered lasting alliances among sovereign Masonic bodies throughout every continent, cementing the infrastructure of Brotherhood that reaches beyond national borders, languages, and ethnic backgrounds. Steeped in the ancient traditions of the Craft and steered by the eternal values of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, the GGMC functions as a renowned gathering place for cooperation, recognition, and collective progress among regular Masonic jurisdictions worldwide. Our steadfast commitment to the artisanal, historic, and sacred foundations of Freemasonry links us to a universal fellowship dedicated to upholding the honor, dignity, and universality of the Masonic Institution. Magnifying a Century of Worldwide Fraternal Brotherhood This landmark image, captured in 2017, features the gathered members of The National Grand Lodge of Romania 1880 during a formal session alongside representatives from various international Grand Lodges at the Grand Lodge of Romania. The photograph honors a moment of sacred Masonic camaraderie during opening rituals, showcasing the enduring spirit of international harmony that has defined our interactions with sovereign Masonic powers for generations. Notable among the esteemed attendees is the Honorable Illustrious Ollie Spencer, Sr., 33°, Past Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. (A.F. & A.M.), the historic jurisdiction that originally granted the authority and warrant to initiate Masonry throughout the United States and Canada. Illustrious Spencer likewise served with high honor as the President General Emeritus of the General Grand Masonic Congress. His participation among the gathered global leaders provides a robust validation of the continuity and legitimacy of the fraternal links that bind our worldwide Masonic family. These same sacred connections were first championed in 1896 by Illustrious H. C. Scott, 33°, who served as Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. (A.F. & A.M.), mirroring the role of Illustrious Ollie Spencer, Sr. Together, these iconic leaders embody a vibrant legacy of Masonic solidarity spanning many decades—a heritage built on mutual respect, shared work, and a relentless dedication to the Craft’s expansion. The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. persists as our honored Mother Grand Lodge, our valid source of lineage, and the permanent seat where our fraternal history continues to thrive on a global scale. Through the changing years, from the end of the 1800s to the current era, the bonds of our Brotherhood remain unbreakable and significant, reinforcing the GGMC's mission to gather Freemasons from all nations in a shared journey toward enlightenment, fellowship, and service to all human beings.

The Sovereign Lineage

Our deep-rooted relationship with Romania serves as the bedrock of our institutional authority. In 1896, the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Washington, DC, was granted its sovereign Warrant Charter from the Grand Lodge of Romania. This storied document represents the sacred origin of our lineage, authorizing our craft throughout the United States. Solidified anew in 2017, this bond keeps our legacy eternal.

OUR ANCESTRY
While numerous Masonic organizations adopt our titles or history, we take immense pride in being the original General Grand Masonic Congress. All other entities using this name are separate offshoots. We maintain the exclusive affiliation with our Mother Grand Lodge and Holy See, the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Washington, DC. This body received its authoritative Warrant Charter from the Grand Lodge of Romania in 1896 to establish labor within the United States. This digital platform provides a copy of that historical Warrant, serving as undeniable testimony to our legitimacy. While others claim regularity through secondary documents, our standing is legally and traditionally absolute via this source. These eternal Romanian foundations serve to reconfirm our global diplomatic ties, as evidenced by our 2017 agreements with the Grand Master of Romania and various treaties across European and Asian jurisdictions with fellow President Generals and Grand Masters worldwide.
