There are three great duties which a Mason is charged to inculcate: to God, to his neighbor and to himself.
Masonry (or Freemasonry) is the oldest fraternity in the world.
No one knows just how old it is because the actual origins have been lost in time. It arose from the skillful stonemasons who used
the stars, sun, moon, and planets to build the Egyptian Pyramids and Temples, or the Great Mesopotamian Ziggurats.
Many believe it started with the guilds of stonemasons who built the castles and cathedrals of the Middle Ages.
They were influenced by the Knights Templar, a group of Christian warrior monks formed in 1118 to help protect pilgrims making trips to the Holy Land.
Since Freemasonry and the Order of Eastern Star are NOT a religion, any man or woman of lawful age that believes in a Supreme Being
and the immortality of the soul can be made a Mason or an Eastern Star. In every far-flung corner of the Earth, you will find traces of the Masonic Order,
as the Ancient Brotherhood and Sisterhood extends to every country in the World in one form or another.
